• Is an incorporated association in the State of New South Wales, under the Associations Incorporation Act (NSW) 2009.
  Certificate of incorporation number is Y0219741, dated 18 June 1987.
• Operates in accordance with its Constitution, and the Model Constitution (2022).
• Holds its Annual General Meeting of the members in October each year.
• Is governed by a Board of five, elected by its members, who meet six times a year, around February, April, June, August, September, November.
• Is endorsed as a Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR).
• Is an authority holder under the Charitable Fundraising Act (NSW) 1991 and Charitable Fundraising Regulation (NSW) 2021.
• Is unrelated to any other Bridging the Gap entity in NSW or elsewhere in Australia.

The Board:

• Elects a Chair, Deputy Chair, Secretary and Treasurer from amongst themselves, and listed on the Australian Charities and Non-for-profit Commission (ACNC) website.
• Functions in accordance with its Board of Management Governance Charter.
• Appoints the Chief Executive Officer, who is also the organization’s Public Officer.
• Establishes Policy, for the Chief Executive Officer to implement.
